Apaches at Minds Cafe

Whee! Just came back from a Apache Outing...to Minds Cafe... At first I thought the turnout for freshies would be quite bad. But in the end..not bad...almost all came...except 3...

And we got pang sehed by that idiot Taitong....

Wah...but quite EX sia...even with the coupons...gosh... But quite nice la. I enjoyed the games there la. The food...oh well..i only liked the brownie with ice cream... Well...when you are enjoying...time flies... We played a game called Cramuim....Very fun...but its too americanized... I hope they come up with a Singaporean Version....hahaha

And I drove! My Dad's lorry. Yippee! And I sent all the westerners home...HAhahaha.. And they just make a lot of noise behind la..wah lao... like having party like that...But I abit lau kwuee.. Cuz I stall engine... you know why? Cuz i forgot to release handbrake. Wah kao! Blur me...then died on the steep slope of the carpark... But i guess they enjoyed the ride on the back of the lorry.. they liked it so much...that i suspect one of them told Eugene..the Rag Head about my lorry driving skills and now i think i would be driving the float for RAG...tsk... God please guide my unsteady hands...wahahaha I don't want to be remembered for the wrong reasons!

Overdue Post V -- NEFMQ

Immediately after Section Omega... it was time for NEFMQ... I was designated to be the photographer.. Damn i was so nervous... What if i $%#%#$ it up?

Heng got my trusty assistant Kaiwen... She's not bad too!... Actually wanted her to be the digital Photographer...in the end...we were given a video camera to handle as well! So she was the one handling it most of the time. And i think she did pretty well! CheerS!!!!

It was a very good show... especially by the MC.. Ervin or Erwin... wah lao...hear him talk like listening to Radio.... Damn zhai and smooth la... And he's damn natural with the audience! Good sia...

But I really can't comment much on anithing...cuz i was just too concentrating on taking photos...on looking out for that moment....for that angle....counting how much film I have left... Tsk... I feel so..Pro... Hahahaha That day when I went for NDP preview... there was a pro photographer beside us at the stairs...taking pictures.... I can't help but steal glances at her...seeing her work.. I mean she's not a beauty... But I just want to see her do her stuff as a photographer. And i saw her take out a piece of paper...which i reckon is the detailed programme sheet. Hahahaha.... Cuz I was doing that during NEFMQ... Keep looking at the programme sheet. Thinking...wats next....wats next.... cuz you have to be there to capture that moment....if you were dreaming and you missed it...thats it! Gone! Misson failed! I'm just thankful that I volunteered to cover many events during my SAJC days. I just loved to take pictures. And it was an art...and a science...you have to ensure you had enough film... You must strategise with your partner...so that you can cover the event extensively... And get nice shots... But still I think I lack the X factor... I lack the ability to sense a photo moment.. I always miss those and only realise after the moment is gone. tsk...

Anyway...all of us worked very hard for NEFMQ... And it was a great event...hahaha Im very happy and proud that I was part of this event...and I also thank the Organisers for their hardwork... Weining.. Wanjun.. Bridgette and Gary... Well I see you guys the most..so I guess you did the most work...wahahaha...Well done!!

Overdue Posts IV -- Section Omega 2006

I was in the group Apache. Named after the fearsome Red Indian tribe... Little did I know... That the name suited our freshies really well... They were very united and ....fearsome... Resourceful and full of bright ideas...ie...finding loopholes...or good strategy... Until we manage to emerge as NUMBER 1 OG!!!

You guys rock man...

Alrite...I guess the whole camp... I like the initiation part the most. I guess because we the OGLs thought of it ourselves and it was more or less unique to our group. I thank Yiwen, Yingzheng and Ee Min for their contributions (Rock...cactus...) Wahaha... The freshies had to pick one attribute and one object for their Apache NickName...randomly.. And so the following are their nicknames

and finally....
Humourous Cactus!!!

Wahaha... had a good laugh over those.... and don't forget...the Holy Cow!!! or Cow Woman... Or just plain Ee Min. She is to be revered. To hear her moo is to receive her blessing... but do not cross her. Do not cross a cow. Lest you choke on beef or milk! you have been warned...

But I think the best part is also to meet up with my Dark Side fellows (dun worry eemin...you have fallen to the darkside liao...so I treat you as one of US!!!) And to have fun...as if we were freshies once more... Haiz.. I really wanna go for another camp with all of you!! its like so fun lah... Just slacking around is fun too... I only worry that as the term goes on...we might grow apart....I mean between the freshies and the seniors... Look at our Dark Side OGLs... Dun really say hi to them animore... shy la... Only Song Ning more frenly looking I guess...hmm... Ok la...I promise to say hi as long as they dun avoid me....ok?

Looking forward to more outings...and activities planned by them (freshies)... Kay la..i'm the on type... you want help i will come one!!!

I look forward to the future with hope and longing! Too bad the engine peps are overloaded and Yiwen is overseas... Nevamind! still got me and Vic... we will SUPPORT you all...wahahaha

NDP Preview

Today I went for NDP Preview. My good old pal Nanli was kind enough to spare me a ticket and we went together. I asked why he had not invited a gal instead. Good chance wor... but he said I would appreciate it better. All the military stuff and all. Very true indeed...

I shall not say what has happened during the preview. But rather how I felt about it. Well.. I must say...i felt very nostalgic during the parade. We sang many songs...songs of patriotism...which many of my peers would brush away.. These songs reminded me of a time when I was a primary school kid learning all these songs in music... And moreover..being an regular in the SAF... all the words hold special meaning to me... And in a way... I feel that at least...signing on is not a waste of time... I am there so that we may have another Nation Day the next year. Hah... Well I may not be a significant part but at least i'm a small part in this big picture and I help make it complete! It is true that there is spirit in these parades. Maybe I'm just easily moved... Hah... Or maybe I'm already patriotic....

Overdue Posts III -- Hong Kong Trip

Well well.. I went to Hong kong on 13th july...to 17th july... with my primary school friends... Nanli and the evil Jiarong. Pouty Wanling and her NY fren Ming Hui. I think Ming Hui had the most fun. Everytime being with us is like comedy night. Jiarong la...all his nonsense.

I saw the hobbit and the elf from my ENS OG. Wah biang...they look damn shagged la... They say cuz they shop for 3 days liao...v tired....And i'm on my first day.. tsk

Minghui thinks I and Jiarong are brokeback...Tsk... Jiarong again...all his nonsense... Its just that we suan each other alot. Boh pian.. He's out to take advantage of the situation...And I'm out to stop him... So we are always at loggerheads...

Aniway me thinks HongKong is very similar to Singapore. The style of living...the stuff you can find there. Think only the dimsum and the wantan are much better. The rest...well...about the same. The MTR is longer than our MRT. And they make lotsa weird announcements... Which reminds me of our MRT's announcements. Recently SMRT started to copy SBSTransit's NEL.. And start saying "Please mind the platform gap." I mean for 18 years people can see the gap and SUDDENLY they cant see it you know. I feel like saying..."Thanks mate...wouldn't have seen it without you." Rubbishy announcement... Copycats... Please copy with brain la...tsk...

Anyway back to Hongkong. Very nice nite view of the city. And stuff close quite late here. Like midnight then close whereas singapore is more like 10pm? And I dun really like the food there. Only the wantan with 2x real prawns....unlike singapore's puny prawns...

And I came back at midnight...the next day i went to USP Camp...

Overdue posts II -- ENS Camp

Straight after coming back from Redang... I went to ENS Camp.

I was the OGL for Bubbles! The other group's name is Blank. Well done la... Very creative indeed.It was a rather balanced group. Formed with 4 freshies and 5 oldies. I was closer to the oldies. 1 being weisern whom i dragged the camp to...and the four...i dunno leh... consists of a pair of twins! and a hobbit and an elf! wahahaha... Very funny they all so I guess I found fun to talk to them. And we are more on the same frequency la... as compared to the rest. So made a few friends. Not to mention my fellow OGLs... Xiaobin and Jasmine! I was the thorn amongst the pretty roses. And Youxiang keeps eyeing them...wAhahaha...

I must thank all of them for such a great time! And of course the camp com for giving me the opportunity to be a "ghost". I think this year fright night is the bEST! (Organised by Weining and Wanjun and Brigette and Gary) Because we didn't need to put on make up watsoever. We scared the people by doing special effects only. Like playing an old spooky song when they are in a room. My part was to push a chair while they are reading a clue... and later when they are reading another clue at the window, my friend will smack his hand on it from the other side. Heh... Then theres a station where they have to go into the female toilet to read a clue...in a cubicle. Then my fren will off the light plus smack on the door. Just when you thought it is over you walk out...the automatic flush will be activated. For the slow thinking you will be scared la. hahaha. Damn good la... Wanjun was a long hair ghost also...but some of the people recognise her. I think quite sian for her. And the atmosphere was a big plus. It was held at EW2. And they are in the process of tearing down the place. So everything is very messy. The air is stale. And very dark. Even the Exit sign is illuminated by a red light! Goodness. Despite the hick ups i still think its damn good. Except some idiots who saw me la... can't they just let us scared them..tsk... takes half the fun away....

And there was 3 days of slackness before I flew to hongkong!

Overdue Posts I -- Redang Trip

Right folks...

I have grown very slack lately... so din post. you all must post more comments mah..then i will be more motivated to write! ah hah!....hehe

Anyway. Yah I went to Redang from 1/7 to 4/7. With me were my goodest fren who jioed me... Germaine...and her bf Mao... Lao lao aka Jing Yan... Mousey Shumei... Shuyun and my Junior from 160 Sqn, Weijie...

I never knew snorkelling could be this fun! So much to see underwater...too bad I don't really know how to dive... If not I could have as much fun as Weijie. He dint even need a life jacket loh. Well.. I think bringing him along was a good thing. Because he told us a lot of damn cold jokes. Sheese...buay tahan... i hope he is having fun at all those orientation camps in NTU now...too bad he not in NUS...if not we can have more fun!...wahahaha

Sorry peps...no pics... too lazy to upload. U wanna see Redang...come with me next hols! But I dunno...to get there take 1 whole day of bus. And back also...2 days of travelling for 1.5 day of activity....well... but i guess the experience of going somewhere with frens is quite nice too...

But the most sian thing is that GERMZ neva tell me she attached... Well done la.. last minute during the trip then i realise.... But ok la..i could understand... I was at a tuff spot that time...then after that i din talk much to germs then the trip... so ok la... not too long. Just find it funny that she was telling me one of her frens din tell her that he was attached even tho she asked and she was fuming mad...and something similar happen to me and her...wahahahaha But its ok...

And got to know shuyun better. I used to see her in SA... quiet quiet nerdy nerdy (no offence) but she does talk quite alot...and like to take photos too! Wahaha... I only remember seeing her taking prize with me during one of the school anniversary during J2... Of cuz..my award was a tad more zhai than hers...wahahahaha

Right after this I immediately went for ENS camp....

I saw 4 x MiG 29

When i was on my way home from Redang, I saw 4 x MiG 29s! Amazing to see them in flight. Just amazing! And they were flying so low as well!

Damn...the excitement...

Right...realise i shouldn't write too much about this...lest i be labelled a spy....tsk

Long time no blog-- in the eye of the storm

Right.... So much has happened.

I have been to Redang for 4 days... 1/7 - 4/7 for snorkelling. Damn nice! Must go again...

And I have been to Econs Camp.. As OGL. Very fun too. 4/7 - 7/7. Met many new friends...hehehe *evil grin*

And now i'm preparing to go for HongKong Trip...from 13/7 - 17/7 and after that USP camp from 18/7 - 20/7 ... NEFMQ on 21/7 and 22/7

And now is right in the middle....calm....

So far so good...might write about my trip...see how first...hahahaha
